More than 300 ballet fans turned out Tuesday night at the newly refurbished downtown San Francisco Prada boutique to honor the San Francisco Ballet School. As reported by wwd, pretty ballet students, perfectly poised, traded tutus for the newest Prada styles. "This is a fantastic celebration of young talent at the San Francisco Ballet School, and a tribute to their dedication to dance," said Jean Larette. Dede Wilsey, a longtime ballet patron, was especially happy to see all of the new pink fashions — coats, fur jackets, dresses, sweaters and accessories — on display.
Pink, she noted, is her favorite color. The new store decor also made its debut that evening. The updated retro-modern style, achieved chiefly with gleaming black-and-white marble and textured leather, was designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi and will be rolled out to the most important stores worldwide, according to Prada. The San Francisco store is located in a historic building on a prime downtown spot with entrances on Post Street, Grant Street and Maiden Lane. Sleek sofas and ottomans in the women's department are upholstered in vivid chartreuse silk velvet.
