The New England Patriots selected Jimmy Garoppolo with the 30th pick in the second round (62nd overall) during the NFL Draft on Friday.
Garoppolo, a 6-foot-2-inch, 226-pound righthanded passer played college football at Eastern Illinois. As a senior in 2013, he broke Tony Romo's school records for career passing touchdowns, yards and passing touchdowns in a season. He also won the Walter Payton Award that season.
