The Academy Theatre presents the area's first 2014 theatrical production with Arthur Miller's "A View From the Bridge," directed by Ted Watts Jr. The tragedy, the Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Play in 1998 and adapted for film, television and the opera, takes place in an Italian-American neighborhood in 1950s Brooklyn.
The family living in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge is headed by longshoreman Eddie Carbone and his wife, Beatrice, who allow their orphaned niece Catherine and later Beatrice's cousins, illegal immigrants Rodolpho and Marco, to move in with them.
