No, Charlie Margiotta didn't invent touch-tackle football. Though, understandably, some folks around here might have thought that the case. Truth is the longtime master of the Staten Island Touch Tackle League didn't even create the SITTL.
"John DeSio was the guy," the now 78-year-old Margiotta was saying the other day. "In the beginning, my family just had the garage where teams stored their equipment."
