Today we have the pleasure to publish a guest post by Ken Borrelli, a leader of the Italian American Heritage Foundation of San Jose. Ken focuses on what he describes as a "Second Diaspora", i.e. what he sees as the demise of Italian ethnic neighborhoods in the Bay Area. This is great food for thought.
Ken's article raises questions that may spark an interesting debate: are we really witnessing a demise of the Italian ethnic neighborhoods? How can we interpret the rebirth of new modern Little Italies like the ones in San Jose and San Diego?
