Finally Washingtonian jazz enthusiasts will get a chance to experience a live performance by two of the most interesting talents of Italian music: Giovanni Guidi (piano) and Gianluca Petrella (trombone), presenting the album “Soupstar”, a name that reflects the improvisational alchemy between their instruments.
The concert will allow us to discover the unusual connection between these two musicians, who are incredible, when it comes to creating their own tunes while enjoying themselves on classics like “Over The Rainbow” and “Prelude to a Kiss”. Endorsed by the great Enrico Rava, Steve Coleman, Paolo Fresu, Marcus Rojas and Carla Bley, Giovanni Guidi and Gianluca Petrella have established a duet that sees no limits when it comes to exploring nearby territories in sound.
