Although members have witnessed many changes over the years, the Downriver Italian American Club has been around for over a half-century and is still going strong. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, the club held a celebration Oct. 2 at the Bentley Banquet & Conference Center, 646 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte. Approximately 130 members attended the event to honor the many accomplishments of their club, including current President Sam Randazzo, who presided over the event.
Randazzo is the latest in a long line of 20 presidents in the club’s history, starting with Joseph Menna. The line continued with Frank Moriconi, Ivan McFaul, Tom Consiglio, Charles Lupo, Sam Palazzolo, John Russo, Selina Parrino, Sam Cosentino, Mileo DeJohn, Don Capezza, John Tola, Nino Trupiano, Tom Talluto, Florence Coleman, Tony DiCarlo, Sal DiPasquale, Mark Grazioli and Frank Giannotti.
