At its October meeting, the Hamden Art League is pleased to host a program featuring artist and teacher John Massimino as he shares his experience on how to make a good painting better. Using artwork from those who registered in advance for this opportunity, John will give individualized suggestions on how to improve, finish or take work in another direction for the benefit of the entire audience.
He will explain what goes into a critique, including what he looks for, addressing mistakes and how images need to relate to one another, referring to the Masters and providing a handout of compositional considerations. Massimino holds a B.F.A. from Hartford Art School and has had numerous one-man shows and group exhibitions of his paintings in the U.S. and Italy.
