A local man who helped found the Southington Drive-In Committee and the Southington Italian-American Festival and now leads the park board will be this year's recipient of the top award of the local chapter of UNICO, the largest Italian-American service organization group in America.
Mike Fasulo, a 1977 graduate of Southington High School and a certified public accountant, will get the UNICO Gold Medal of Honor award at the chapter's May awards ceremony. Dawn Miceli, a town council member, said Fasulo is a behind-the-scenes-type presence in town who does a lot to help the community without calling much attention to himself.
