Mayor de Blasio got some practice for his upcoming Italian vacation Sunday, helping to hoist an 80-foot, three ton statue at an Italian festival in Williamsburg.
The mayor turned out for the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Giglio Feast, where organizers egged him on into joining the dozens of men carrying the massive statue known as the Giglio, topped by an image of St. Paulinus and carrying a twelve piece brass band, through the neighborhood streets.
