CIAO invites the public to join in the fun of sharing a meal, conversation and a friendly game of cards on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Church Hall in Fredonia. Just bring a dish to pass, your place setting and a beverage other than coffee. Please call Nance Ortolano at 673-9177 for reservations and information. All are welcome members, and guests. There is no fee for this event.
Columbus Day has traditionally been a day of celebration for Italian Americans all over the country. New York City hosts one of the biggest parades and celebrations sporting Italian food and culture.
Learn about upcoming events and activities and sign up for the Cooking Class with Chiara. Enjoy the many flavors of Tuscany with traditional Tuscan Brochette, Pasta with Leeks and Gorganzola Cheese and for dessert Profiterole, a cake prepared with bigne and chocolate. This cake origin is French but has been embraced by Italy as one of their favorite desserts. The cooking class is scheduled for Nov. 1 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek.
