Considering the number of Staten Islanders who work at and attend the San Gennaro Feast, the 93rd annual event is very much a borough-fueled event. The festival starts on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. and runs through the evening of Sunday, Sept. 22. WCBS-FM radio personality and Staten Island resident Joe Causi recently summed up the spirit of the festival, the largest and longest-running street event in New York City.
“As per being a part of the San Gennaro feast since 1981 and broadcasting the first Saturday each and every year, it is always a great time seeing old friends and meeting new friends,” Causi told the Advance. He will perform a live show for 101.1 FM starting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 14.
