Known primarily for its classic Italian food, perfect cappuccinos and admittedly, a few tourist traps, Little Italy has recently become Manhattan's premier destination for street art thanks to the L.I.S.A (Little Italy Street Art) Project.
Established by Little Italy Merchants Association President Ralph Tramontana with creative directors Wayne Rada and RJ Rushmore, the L.I.S.A. Project brings together a wide range of street art from Adbusters icon Ron English's giant green baby to Chris RWK and Veng RWK's adorable and witty "Mona Lisa if painted by Leonardo's Kids" and ASVP's tri-color wheatpaste, creating a burst of color and beauty on the walls of Mulberry Street and transforming Little Italy into Manhattan's only mural district.
