On June 3 members of the board of Italian Festivals of New Mexico made an official presentation of $37,384 to UNM Hospitals CEO Steve McKernan. Later in the month the ceremonial check was presented to a gathering of Hospital administrators by members of both the festival board and the festival production committee who received a standing ovation for their efforts.

The total donation to the UNM Children's Hospital over the 8 year run of the NM Italian Film & Culture Festival now stands at more than $230,000. UNM Children's Hospital is the only facility of its kind in New Mexico. Each year it serves 60,000 newborns, infants and children and is a recognized leader in pediatric care, research and education. UNM Children's Hospital has been the Italian Festival's exclusive beneficiary since the festival began.

Produced by the nonprofit organization, Italian Festivals of New Mexico, the NM Italian Film & Culture Festival celebrates iconic Italian film and the richness of Italian culture. Plans are currently underway for the 2016 festival as well as for its annual bocce tournament.

The festival's all-volunteer group of coordinators and producers extends its sincere thanks to all who participated in and attended Festival 2015. Special thanks and recognition goes to the Santa Fe Festival committee who organized a very successful three-day festival in The City Different that accounted for $10,000 of Festival 2015's record donation.
