Turning waste into environmentally friendly plastics is the goal of a $1.4-million project announced Tuesday by the University of Hawai'i and an Italian plastics company.
Researchers in the School of Ocean and Earth Science & Technology (SOEST) will use the money to improve the plastic manufacturing process used by Bio-on, a company based near Bologna, Italy.
