Piccola Italian Bistro has opened in Kinzers at the former Kinzers Station Tavern. Nicholl Thompson, whose mother and stepfather owned the former restaurant and bar at 3572 Lincoln Highway, has totally revamped it and changed the menu. Before opening Piccola Italian Bistro last month, Thompson oversaw more than $100,000 in renovations. The work included taking out pool tables, shortening the bar and completely redoing the kitchen. Smoking is also now banned.
Thompson says the new restaurant is “very different” from the Station Tavern, describing Piccola Italian Bistro as having a “small batch, scratch kitchen” that features fresh-made pasta and sauce as well as sandwiches, pizza, soups and appetizers.
