Two months after putting it up for sale, Tesoro Pizzeria & Restaurant owners Fortunata and Rocco Agrusa have sold their business to a pair with extensive experience in the local restaurant scene. Johanna Harvey and Mark Greenleaf, both of Bangor, purchased Tesoro from the Agrusas last month, and have been busy over the past few weeks renovating the Harlow Street space into a more contemporary-looking Italian restaurant. They anticipate a late December opening and will keep the name Tesoro.
“It’s a staple of Bangor. Everybody knows it and loves it, so it’s really nice to get in on something that already has a lot of recognition in the community,” said Harvey, who most recently was a bartender at High Tide in Brewer, but has worked in restaurants and bars in Bangor for years. “We want to keep all those good things about it, but expand on everything a little bit. We’ve got to keep the pizza, though. That pizza is amazing.”
