The Bronx is remembering the owner of Mike's Deli, the popular shop that is a staple for celebrities, athletes and politicians. Mike Greco passed away Wednesday night. He was 89 years old. His family says he will remembered for his work ethic and as a Bronx legend.
Greco's family says he came to the U.S. with his twin brother and just $50 in his pocket. He eventually opened Mike's Deli, making iconic sandwiches for more than 50 years. Greco's daughter Louisa says his father outworked others and encouraged competition, saying it brought more people to the community.
