A Phoenix-based wine bar and restaurant is opening a location in the space of a recently closed south Tempe eatery. Postino WineCafe will open on the northwest corner of Rural and Warner roads in mid-2020, according to a press release. Tempe Public Market Cafe occupied the location for about two years before abruptly closing on Jan. 17.
Upward Projects, the group that runs Postino, Joyride Taco House, Federal Pizza and other Valley restaurants, offered positions to former Tempe Public Market Cafe staff members. “Postino will always be focused on serving our surrounding community and really becoming a part of the fabric of a neighborhood,” Postino CEO Lauren Bailey said in the release. “We can’t wait to welcome our new neighbors and friends here in South Tempe.”
