The overview for Italian fashion is positive, looking at 2015 financial results (since last year’s are still not final). Investment bank Mediobanca's research center analyzed the characteristics of 140 businesses in the sector that had at least €100 million in sales in 2015. Overall, the analysis shows a vital, growing sector, which is solid and established on the international scene, creating jobs and representing 4% of Italy's GDP.
The outlook overall is bright, even though exports are slowing a bit because of a drop in consumption in China, which had been the engine of growth.
