Born and raised in Italy, but currently living in the United States, mezzo soprano Benedetta Orsi has earned a global following for her “breathtakingly beautiful voice, full and rich, with remarkable easy power and perfect diction.” Broadway World
La voix de l’amour is Ms. Orsi’s second album, a selection of some of the most celebrated French opera arias and art songs, in collaboration with international Croatian pianist Dragan Babic. It has been recorded, edited and released in Italy by the world renowned label LimenMusic, which collaborates with many leading musicians of international fame and high-level institutions, such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
The world premier performance took place on December 7, 2019 in St. Louis (USA) during an annual concert organized by St. Louis-Bologna Sister Cities, featuring Ms. Orsi as star performer, along with acclaimed Greek soprano Stella Markou and Russian pianist Alla Voskoboynikova.
“I’ve been honored to present my new album during this annual concert organized by Michael Cross, President of St. Louis-Bologna Sister Cities.” says Benedetta. “It’s a privilege to represent my hometown and my country around the world, spreading the love and passion that I have for music.”
Only two months after the world premiere, La voix de l’amour (CD+Video App) has been nominated as Best Album, Best Female Vocalist and Best New Release at the Californian Global Music Awards, and has obtained huge success through American, Italian, Mexican and Japanese radio, newspapers and reviews.
“Benedetta has a beautiful voice, that is very unusual to find nowadays, a mix between mezzosoprano and contralto. We were used to listening to big voices like Callas; and Benedetta has nothing to fear in the comparison: dark, sensual, rich color that captures the listeners. It is simply a pleasure to listen to her new album, La voix de l’amour.” Anna Menichetti, Radio Svizzera Italia
The album is available worldwide on Amazon; inside the booklet you’ll be able to find a code to watch the videos of the recording through the first Italian classical music app created by LimenMusic.
Ms. Orsi will continue promoting the CD with a concert tour planned for the 2020-2021 season in Italy, Spain, France, Dominican Republic, Panama and the United States.
