L’italoamericano più amato del cinema mondiale è assolutamente lui. John Turturro – 60 anni il 28 febbraio – è riuscito ad imporsi ad Hollywood, arrivando a girare più di 70 film, di cui 6 da regista, diventando l’attore feticcio di grandi registi come Spike Lee e i fratelli Coen, ma lavorando anche con Scorsese, Woody Allen e parecchio anche nel nostro (e suo) Paese.
L’attore è nato a Brooklyn ed è figlio di immigrati italiani. Suo padre, Nicholas Turturro era di Giovinazzo (Puglia) e sua madre di Aragona (Sicilia). Il padre si è trasferito negli USA a 6 anni e, tuttora, Turturro vive nello stesso quartiere.
