Clint Eastwood hadn't actually seen "Jersey Boys," the Tony-winning Broadway smash about 1960s hitmakers the Four Seasons, when he was asked about directing a film version.
"I said I'd be interested in looking at it," Eastwood, 84, recalled.
The Oscar-winning director saw "three different versions, in New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas, and that was that.
