After introducing the AlfaRomeo 4C to the American market last year – and winning the Popular Mechanic's Best Sport Car Award – the Modena-based automobile manufacturer has announced the arrival of the 4C Spider this summer.

The engine is a turbocharged V4 and delivers 237 horsepower to a remarkably lightweight auto body, a carbon fiber shell technology developed for Formula 1. The resulting power-to-weight ratio creates a peppy, powerful sports car, ideal for a late summer cruise through Tuscany or Napa.
