Italian cities buzz with a unique energy that is both chaotic and compelling. From the ancient architecture in Rome, to the fashion of Milan, to the pizza in Naples, there is so much to love about a big, messy, delicious Italian metropolis.
But there are also a few things that might get to you after a while – like crowds, high prices and fear for your life every time you approach a roundabout. Feeling overwhelmed in urban Italy is a common experience. The antidote? Escaping to a sweet beach town on the Amalfi Coast, or to the picturesque Dolomites mountains, or to the vineyards of Tuscany.
