There is a special treat for lovers of opera coming exclusively to San Francisco this month. With a limited showing on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 PM and Sunday May 22 at 2:00 PM, the Marines' Memorial Theatre of San Francisco (609 Sutter St) will bringing to life Carlo Pallavicino's The Amazons in the Fortunate Isles, a lost Venetian opera never played since its creation in 1679.
The performance follows on the heels of last year's resounding success reviving the Venetian opera La Cleopatra. Both last years and this year's performances are created by Ars Minerva, a San Francisco-based arts non-profit organization.
