A disappeared city, whose center occupies - according to the prospections - a territory of about 40 hectares, has been discovered in the Calabrian hinterland. The materials are a few tens of centimeters from the ground level and show the richness of the center, its elegant structuring. The investigations have allowed to establish that it was built starting from the VI-V century B.C. and was modified in later times.

Then, all of a sudden, the settlement came to a standstill and was forgotten. What happened in that place? A cataclysm or a lost war that prevented the city from being rebuilt and could be inhabited? There is much to dig and study before having definitive answers. In fact, the second campaign of archaeological investigations on the hill of Santa Gada di Laino Borgo, where the city stood, is nearing completion.

Laino Borgo is a town in the province of Cosenza, located at an altitidine of 270 meters above sea level. It has 1,760 inhabitants and is immersed in the Pollino National Park.
