Barn Opera presents Verdi’s “La traviata,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15 and 16 at the Barn Opera House, 1321 Pearl St. in Brandon, VT. When Brandon’s Barn Opera House “officially” opens next weekend, it will be with one of the most beloved gems of the repertoire, Giuseppe Verdi’s “La traviata.” And the audience will be invited to share in the festivities — even on stage.

“We’re celebrating this entry into this space that’s totally dedicated to opera,” explained Joshua Collier, Barn Opera’s founder and artistic director. “That’s going to happen with champagne all night. It’s going to be a formal opening. I’m asking people to wear their best — gowns and tuxedos or suits. It’s going to be a red carpet event.”
