Boston Art Commission moving forward on ‘review’ of Columbus statue

The Boston Public Art Commission is moving ahead with more hearings about what to do with the Christopher Columbus statue after a meeting Tuesday that featured heated public testimony on both sides.

This means that there will be a special meeting at some yet-to-be-determined later date for more debate over what to do with the recently vandalized statue that’s treasured by many Italian-Americans in the North End, but reviled by some Native American and progressive activists.
