Over a span of 57 years, Frank Palmeri dropped more names than a well-connected gossip columnist. He didn't deal with rumor or innuendo. Any name he mentioned was verifiable. His focus was on sports, and he knew the players and officials on the Denver sports scene.

Palmeri became a well-known figure at most of the prominent high school sporting events in Denver. He made the public address announcements at state high school basketball, wrestling and track and field championships. On occasions his voice could be heard at Denver Bears and Denver Zephyrs games when minor-league baseball was played in Bears Stadium, later called Mile High Stadium.
