The new episode of Italian Innovators is dedicated to Uguccione Ranieri di Sorbello (1906-1969), pioneer of Italian studies in America, war hero, journalist and scholar. He was the mind behind the naming of the Verrazzano bridge in New York City and a major architect of Italy’s cultural Renaissance in the United States in the aftermath of WWII.

His bulletin “The Italian Scene” was the interdisciplinary platform of a new Italian influence and the forerunner of Italian Innovators. In this episode, and in the upcoming sequel on his mother Romeyne Robert (pioneer of female entrepreneurship in Italy), I present the work of the Foundation that takes their name and continues their legacy. Watch the episode here.
