The tastes, music and culture of old-world Italy -- along with some modern features -- will come alive this weekend at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights. Festa Italiana, a three-day celebration that begins Friday, has national and local entertainment, along with a Friday night fireworks show, an expanded Family Fun Zone and more.
"We've got some new food, new entertainment and a new sponsor that we're very proud of and helps us make this event a wonderful celebration," said festival chairman Joseph Ventimiglia. New to the entertainment stage is The Scintas starring Frankie Scinta, a band that blends comedy, music and impressions into an enduring act that is familiar in Las Vegas casinos and Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren.
