On the Italian countryside, outside the city of Turin, nine Girl Scouts from the Muskegon area slept inside a convent. The Girl Scouts, all from Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore, were the first Americans to sleep inside the convent.
Sleeping on rolled-out mats, the girls were locked inside the convent from 9 p.m. until early the next morning. For the nine Girl Scouts, the 21-day trip to Italy this summer was an experience they will always remember.
