From Sicily to Indiana: A Journey in Textiles Opening Reception

Sep 19, 2015 1088

Thursday September 24, 2015. Please join us for a private reception celebrating the acquisition of Vincenza Pusateri Bondi's trousseau and textiles collection. Vincenza emigrated from Sicily to Indiana in 1910, bringing with her artfully embroidered textiles she had been creating since childhood. This collection, which is over 100 years old, serves as an important example of the traditions and belongings that immigrants brought with them when they came to Indiana, enriching the state's cultural history.

The event will feature hors d'oeuvres and drinks. See the textiles up close and enjoy a short presentation of the collection's history and unique embroidery. Additionally, the entire Bondi collection as well as textiles and other artifacts retained by family members will be available to view at this event ONLY.
