Giorgio Tavecchio did not play in the Green Bay Packers' disappointing exhibition opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
His parents had flown in from California to watch the free-agent kicker make his debut, as had other relatives from New Jersey. The weather was nearly perfect on the early August evening and 73,000-plus Packer fans were energized for the first game at the newly expanded Lambeau Field.
