“Just when I think I’m out, They will pull me back in.” The legendary & one of the greatest movies ever produced “The Godfather,” celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. And despite crossing five decades of its release the movie is still captivating the hearts of its audience by its intruding storyline, excellent cinematography experience, and phenomenal performances by the cast. The movie was made on a budget of US$6 million and was the first movie to have gross revenue of over 269 million at that time.
But the production of the film was as difficult as to surpass its success of half-century. From “Bonnie and Clyde” actor Warren Beatty turning down the offer by the studio to direct, produce, and star as Michael, to Francis Ford Coppola on the verge of committing suicide multiple times to hunt down the perfect cast for the movie and convince them to join in, even if it means to go against the Studio. The beginning for sure wasn’t all pleasant “Apocalypse Now” filmmaker but worth the result.
