New York City’s beloved California-Italian restaurant, Barbuto, is about to share its kitchen secrets with the world. This week, Chef-owner Jonathan Waxman, a James Beard award winner and former judge of Top Chef, announced the arrival of “The Barbuto Cookbook,” calling the book “an ode to years of passionate & brilliant cooking and our fantastic team.”
The bearded chef’s take on California-Italian cuisine will be available in September. (“Barbuto” means bearded in Italian.) And while you shouldn’t judge a cookbook by its cover, this one can be the exception. The shaggy Irish Wolfhound belonged to Chef Waxman’s neighbor, Italian fashion photographer, Fabrizio Ferri.
