Although Mardi Gras is over in south Louisiana, hundreds of locals and visitors will gather in Houma on Sunday for another parade, the Houma Irish-Italian Parade. Celeste Landry, vice president of the Terrebonne Irish-Italian Parading Club, said the day's festivities will begin with a Catholic Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Cannata's Market, 6289 W. Park Ave., Houma.
Directly following Mass, a breakfast, which includes scrambled eggs, biscuit, bacon, sausage, small pastries, orange juice and coffee, will be served at 10 a.m. for $6 per person.
