The Italian radio program Melodie E Ricordi WNTY 990 am celebrated its 50th anniversary with over 400 guests at Aria Banquet Facility in Prospect. The night was a great celebration which included the town of Southington surprising WNTY with an official proclamation and citation, recognition plaques were presented to past and present radio personalities of the program, a traditional folk dance from the Sorelle D’Italia in America was performed, and there was also a performance from the singer Mauro Nardi from Italy.
Rocco Cipriano of Watertown has been the director of Melodie E Ricordi since 2000 and spent over a year planning this event. The night honored Melodie E Ricordi’s commitment to the Italian heritage, the Italian-American community, and the Italian music that lives in their hearts.
