Providence Journal Food Editor Gail Ciampa will be honored on Thursday by the Rhode Island Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women, which proclaims its mission is “to unite and connect women through Italian culture and heritage” while also celebrating the achievements of women of Italian ancestry.
Also being honored at the 6 p.m. Epiphany Celebration at Café Nuovo are New York Times-bestselling author Judith Dupré and lawyer Laura Pisaturo, chair of the Rhode Island Parole Board. “Gail Ciampa’s tenure as a respected writer, editor and reporter spans over thirty years,” the organization said in a media release. “She currently writes and edits the food section in The Providence Journal, part of southern New England’s leading news organization.”
