La Befana is an Italian holiday tradition taking place on the Epiphany Eve (January 5). Legend has it that La Befana is on a quest to find baby Jesus, so she visits every child's home and leaves small gifts in good children's stockings and fills naughty children's stockings with coal.
La Befana will be traveling to Little Italy SJ, and your children can meet her. Festivities will take place at Bel Bacio on Sunday, January 7th at 2pm. Preceding our La Befana celebration will be a mass held in Italian at Holy Cross church in San Jose at 1pm. This is a free event open to the community. It will include a visit with La Befana, a reading of La Befana story, and each good little boy and girl will receive a little treat. Please come early as our storytelling will begin at 2:30pm and the choir will start at 3pm
