Maserati has confirmed that they will launch the convertible version of their super sports car MC20, called Cielo, on May 25. The Bologna-based company shared the MC20 stands for Maserati Corse which refers to its racing lineage, and ‘20’ stands for the year 2020, meanwhile, the word ‘Cielo’ refers to the sky.
The engine specifications and the rest of the details of the MC20 Cielo are yet to be confirmed. But based on the fact that it is based on the MC20, we’re expecting that it will share the same powertrain and drivetrain as its coupe sibling. The MC20 is a rear mid-engine car and it is powered by the brand’s F1-derived Nettuno 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 621 hp and 730 Nm of torque. The MC20’s engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
