
On Monday, November 23, 11:30 – 12:30pm, to mark the centenary of Modigliani’s death, Nancy Ireson, the Barnes’s Deputy Director for Collections and Exhibitions & Gund Family Chief Curator, joins Simonetta Fraquelli, an art historian and specialist in 20th-century European art, to explore new perspectives on the artist. Though underappreciated in his lifetime, Modigliani has since become one of the best-known and best-loved artists of the early 20th century. Following their groundbreaking exhibition at Tate Modern, London in 2017, Ireson and Fraquelli have continued to study the artist’s work, encouraging examination of his methods and materials.
