A popular Midtown restaurant was robbed and the owner ended up in the hospital on Tuesday. Police say a man followed the owner into the store and attacked him, then got away in a yellow cab. For 13 years, Franco Cupini has owned the restaurant and says he has never had any trouble until Tuesday.
"I am lucky. I am lucky because I got a beautiful family, you know and my grandkids and I'm alive," Cupini said. Alive, but battered and bruised after Cupini said he was robbed and assaulted by an armed robber about 7:30 on Tuesday morning. The robbery happened right after he got to work at his restaurant on Westport Road near State Line.
