Sam and Louie's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria celebrated their second anniversary in downtown Sterling this spring. The popular eatery became the first Sam and Louie's in Colorado, opening on May 16, 2016 thanks to the hard work of owners Mike and Denise Schaefer.
The couple first heard about the pizza franchise through the Logan County Economic Development Corporation when they attended an informal taste test and franchise presentation during the fall of 2015 at Northeastern Junior College. "We really liked their food. We liked the Nolan family, the owners of the franchise," said Denise Schaefer, Sterling franchise owner.
