Starbucks SBUX -0.69% is adding a new summer drink to its menu. Starting on Thursday, locations in the U.S. and Canada will serve Affogato-style Frappuccinos. The new beverage is inspired by the Italian dessert, affogato—a scoop of ice cream drowned in a shot of espresso. This new Starbucks version will feature one of the chain's classic Frappuccinos, in place of ice cream, with espresso poured over it.
There will be three versions: vanilla bean, caramel, and mocha. However, customers will be able to order off the menu and add a shot of espresso to any flavor Frappuccino. The smallest option, a Tall, will cost between $4.25 and $4.75.
