Ciao from Rome to all the friends of We the Italians!

In August almost everything stops in Italy: but not We the Italians! Every day there are new news on our website and on our Facebook page, new photos on our Instagram profile, and also this month there are two new interviews and our magazine. We NEVER stop!

There are some news that we want to report to you. The first, beautiful, is that We the Italians has entered into a media partnership with the National Italian American Bar Association. NIABA is comprised of lawyers in the United States, Canada, and Italy. They value three directors who are based in Italy, two who are based in Canada, and many strategically based throughout the United States. Stay tuned, there will be many exceptional contents thanks to this partnership which we are very happy about!

Moreover, from this month we have who represents us in Miami, Florida! Our friend Eleonora Gavaz will be the ambassador of We the Italians in these beautiful areas; and from September she will take care of a welcome return on the magazine, the Great Italians of the Past column! We are grateful and glad to Eleonora for accepting our offer: welcome on board!

We point out a fundraising to which we care a lot, and for which we have made ourselves available, if necessary, to help to get to the destination the amount collected. “Le Donne d'Italia” group, based in San Francisco, is raising funds to help the family of Mario Cerciello Rega, the Carabiniere killed a few days ago by two American teenagers from the Bay Area. “Le Donne d'Italia” is a trustworthy club, I can vouch for them: I personally strongly invite everyone to donate something and help the young widow of this Italian hero gone way too soon.

Another person we want to remember, also gone too soon, is Francesco Durante, a friend of We the Italians whom I interviewed a few years ago: a man of great culture, the Italian who knew more about Italian American literature, a person really in love with the culture of the Italians of America. Italy and also the Italian American community will truly miss Francesco, a wonderful person.

We remind you that you can take advantage of a 10% discount on Italian Citizenship Assistance ‘s services, reserved only for our readers, by writing an email to [email protected] and quoting the code WTICA.

Finally, the Italian proverb. This month the letter is “G” and the proverb of the month of August 2019 is: Gioco di mano gioco di villano ("A hand game is a rude game"). It means that civilized people don't dare raise their hands, not even as a joke. If you use your hands against other people, you are uncivilized, and rude.

That’s all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!
