One of the most innovative artists of the Arte Povera movement, Giuseppe Penone explored the complex relationship between the natural environment and the body. Nearly half a century before climate change became our concern, he aimed at renegotiating our state of modern human alienation from the natural world. This lecture explores Penone’s focus on vulnerability and the biographical emblems of his personal mythologies.
