The opera-themed film In the Mouth of the Wolf is set to be shown in Bolton Landing on Monday, June 25th, at 7:30 pm. This opening selection of the Sembrich Summer Film Series will be presented at Bolton Free Library, 4922 Lake Shore Drive, and is open free and open to the public.
This documentary, virtually unseen since first being shown on U.S. television in 1963, offers a glimpse into an all-but-vanished musical milieu, as the nervous stars — opera greats Margherita Roberti, Renato Cioni, and Piero Cappuccilli — prepare their new production of Verdi’s Luisa Miller for Parma’s notoriously demanding audience.
