A one-night-only screening of an Italian romance produced by Shreveport filmmakers will be showcased as part of Robinson Film Center’s Regional Filmmakers Spotlight series on Thursday. “Molto Bella” will play at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at RFC, located at 617 Texas St. in Shreveport.
“Molto Bella”—translates to “Very Beautiful”— is a love story accented with music and poetry. It follows an aspiring American poet (Paul Petersen) in search of inspiration in the Sicilian town of Taormina, Italy. He meets a folk singer (Andrea von Kampen), also from the United States, who is at a turning point in her budding musical career. After experiencing early success, she feels pressure to keep the momentum and deliver the next hit.
